Hangover: Part 2

More, more, more, oh wait did I say more of the same stuff? I was honestly hoping for something a little different than the first one, but I can't say I'm surprised that it was literally the same movie, just released on different dates. I know there's is not much you can do different about getting drunk, but at least have it about something else, rather than just losing another person! I forgot, they did use Stu's almost brides brother, but isn't it all the same? Look, don't get me wrong, there were definitely some funny parts, but it wasn't enough for me to say this is a movie worth seeing, especially if you have seen the first one. Almost every time a sequel is made it is not as good, and by saying good I'm being as nice as I can, such as The Matrix, Men in Black, and many others, because of the fact that we have seen it already. When you see something totally new, you are so amazed, that it is the best thing ever, and nothing will ever be better. But then when they make another one, it never lives up to it's expectations because it's not new anymore. The Matrix was so amazing, nothing like it ever, but the next two movies were more of the same, not that they weren't good, just not as cool, new, hip whatever you want to call it. I think we can all agree they made this Hangover for the money, and there is nothing else to it.

Side Note: The movie takes place in Bangkok, a wild Bachelor party gets out of control, and the Wolf Pack search for Stu's brides brother.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2

Nothing really to say about this, simply a good ending to a great series. Harry, Ron, and Hermione set out to seek the remaining horcruxes in hoping to finally destroy Voldemort. It was a very long movie, but it flowed and didn't seem like you were there forever. The beginning was definitely slow, but understandable because they needed to explain some things. If you haven't seen any of the other movies, then it's almost not worth it to see this one, unless you just want and interesting and action packed film to watch. Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, was as brilliant as ever, and it's pretty cool to witness the change in age from the first movie to the last, not only with him, but all of the characters. It's pretty sad to see it come to an end, but nothing lasts forever, and it went out with a bang. The only thing I wish is that I could understand everything the characters were saying, with their accents I definitely missed some parts. I recommend it for all ages, and if you haven't seen the others, go watch them!!

Beginners

If I had a car I would have left after the first ten minutes. Now, I don't want to spoil anything for you by at first telling you it was awfully slow, not well explained, and downright boring, but, oh, I guess that is what I'm doing right now. It starts off with a viewing of the house, the house that was lived in by Oliver's (Ewan McGregor) father (Christopher Plummer), where he reveals that he is gay, and has always been. Even throughout his 44 years of marriage, with his wife yes, he was living a lie. It's not as bad as it seems, he loved her, just more as a best friend if you will. I think the movie was trying to paint a picture of how growing up in a dysfunctional childhood, with your dad never being around, not showing much love to your MOM, and your mom, your only mom being a little crazy herself, how that can impact that child's life immensely. At the same time trying to show how the gay rights movement started, and how being gay, being a pariah, was very difficult at that time, and still today. The main problem is that they didn't do a great job in connecting the two. Oliver meets someone, who he falls in love with, someone who he can tell anything to, not only because she would listen, but also because she had family problems herself. To say the story had good intentions I think is the right way to put it, but to fully understand what is going on, they needed to do a much better job at explaining. In most cases showing is more appreciated then telling because it doesn't just lay everything out for you. In this movie they should have done the opposite. If you come out of a movie having an amount of questions, that you can't count on your fingers, then there is a problem. A movie that leaves you with an ending where you are supposed to ponder on what might happen, or what the characters are thinking, is exactly what you want. But if the movie ends and there is a distinct storyline and closing, you expect to be satisfied with how it concludes.

Side note: If you love dogs, the greatest part of the movie is just that, a dog named Arthur. Hands down one of the cutest dogs out there.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon

Action,  action, action is all I can say about this one. This two and half hour movie really moves, you don't even feel like its wasted your whole afternoon, which is pretty amazing when its comes to spending that long of a period in a movie theater. With all of the same core characters, except for Sam's (Shia LeBeouf) girlfriend, which is played by Rosie Huntington- Whiteley, sets you up for a real relationship with the characters, that is if you have seen the first two movies. And if you haven't, then you probably shouldn't be reading this anyways! To make this one worth your money, then you need to at least see the first one to get the gist of it all.  Sam really goes to the last resort in this movie to try and save his beautiful girlfriend, who was taken from him by the decepticons and Patrick Dempsey, who is only interested in power and staying alive. If you are looking for a really well done film, with amazing acting, then don't waste your time. On the other hand, out of all three of the movies, this definitely has the best non-stop action, and if you are like me, you can't get enough of it. It grabs you in because of the graphics, the witty lines, and the thrill of the fighting between the transformers. One thing I must say is why and the heck did they get Rosie Huntington- Whiteley to be the girlfriend, I think they could've picked up a girl on the street, and she would have been as good of an actor as Whiteley. Now, don't get me wrong, she is one of the hottest women out there, and I can not complain about that! But they could have used someone still very good looking, and more acting skills then a monkey playing symbols. My suggestion is to see this movie, there is nothing else like it out there. Being available in 3D, actually makes the experience that much better, you don't even remember that you're wearing the glasses. Those glasses are annoying though aren't they?

Quote of the Week : Tommy Boy (Chris Farley, David Spade)

"But why do they put a guarantee on the box?"
"Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me."

Horrible Bosses

This is definitely the funniest movie of the summer by far. It stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day, as the people who work for absurd bosses, and need to find a way to get rid of them. The bosses, also played by great actors, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, and Colin Farrell, are all psycho and out of line about everything. Aniston is still gorgeous, and she is the perfect fit for her role. She flirts non stop with Charlie Days character and tries anything to have sex with him. Day on the other hand is a little uncomfortable about that, considering he has a soon to be wife waiting for him. Spacey is that boss who never gives that hard worker and credit when credit is due. And if you work, you know exactly how that feels. Bateman works as hard as possible and his boss doesn't give a shit. Excuse my language but it has to be said. As for Sudeikis, who works for Mr. Pellitt (Colin Farrell) really cares about his job,and his no good boss only cares about the money. Not to mention girls of any kind. The movie only being an hour and half is a little slow at parts, but the comedy makes up for it enough that it is a definite see. One other thing that makes me enjoy this movie in particular, is that it had some sexual scenes, but it wasn't over the top. There is always those movies that show everything, where it's really not necessary. Unless it's a big part of the movie, they just don't need it, and in this movie they balanced that perfectly.

Bad Teacher

First off, if your looking for a very intense, very heart felt, academy award winning movie, then this is not the one for you. Otherwise, if you're are looking for an eventful, laugh fulfilling night with your best friend or girlfriend, then go see Bad Teacher. One piece of advice I will give you, don't go with your mom, and don't invite your grandma to go with either. Two mistakes I can personally say I have made. With NUDITY in certain parts it's a sure way to have an awkward car ride home. Bad Teacher stars Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Seigel. Diaz as stunning as always, and Seigel and Timberlake as funny as ever. All play teachers in the movie: Timberlake plays the real scholarly, all about the children type of teacher, not to mention he is loaded with cash. Diaz is all about the money and will try anything to be with the rich man. Seigel being the one sane person who can have fun, make you laugh, but still make you feel like he can have a mature adult conversation.  I don't recommend this for any child under the age of 16, due to the foul language and scenes with inappropriate substances.
